Tonight I attended the lecture given by one of the Georgia Institue of Technology. It was sponsored by the WNLO. He mainly talked about the p-n junction and some basic knowlegde about MOCVD.

The p-n junction in semiconductor is very fundamental structure for the optoelectronic device. First, there are some investigation on the current  flowing throung the p-n junction. By using the mathmatical equation, Ian give two kind of current which possiblely are produced in the p-n junction. One is the drift current which happened by voltage applied to the junction's two sides. The other current is caused by the diffusion of electrons and holes. There are one basic equation to express  I-V function.
